  1. Allow bulk removal of questions from modules.

    I create a module by copying from a large bank of questions into the module for the day. I'd then like to go through that new module and remove, in bulk, all the questions I don't want to include. As it stands I now have to delete them one by one or bulk move them to a dummy "garbage" module for later deletion.

        • Allow for the managment of multiple sections within a single course

          I often teach 4-5 sections of the same course in a semester. I do not set up 5 different mastering courses. That's too much to keep track of. All of my sections get the same course ID, and within Mastering I place them into groups based on sections for easy gradebook filtering. This doesn't integrate with learning catalytics so well. Since all students are in the same masteringclass, they all get placed into the same learning catalytics course. The problem arises when it comes to grades.

          To simplify, say I have 2 sections. One meets monday/wednesday, the other meets tuesday/thursday.

          • Need abilty for BULK settings on modules

            There needs to be a way to make BULK settings for Modules within a course. For example,
            I want to set the "Do not allow students to review their performance on this module" option (either turn it on or off) to all (or a large set) of the modules at one time.
            Or change the percent credit for participation vs. correctness,
            Or to copy a BULK set of modules to another course, rather than the one-module-at-a-time fooishness.

            • Create a new question template - Chat / Collaboration

              Creating a question template which allows students to discuss on a certain topic which aims to enhance their collaboration, critical thinking and/or debating skills. Students will be inspired from peer response too as they can see everyone's answers (progress) and the instructor can also choose to throw more ideas/feedback depending on the student's response.

              Below is the example of a similar kind. That's from a demo question so please neglect the answer it's just to show the effect of this question type.

                Show the countdown timer in the instructor dashboard. I have to go away from the podium computer in order to see the projected student display window if I want to see the timer.

                • Fix answer formatting error when switching question type

                  If a question type is switched from "multiple choice" to "many choice" every answer text acquires lots of formatting codes that have to be edited out. For example, "Steady state" becomes "{"t"=>"t", "v"=>"<p>Steady state.</p>\n"}". This may happen between other question types, too. I haven't checked.

                  • Use formatted image dimensions in student display window

                    Images in the student display window should be displayed at same dimensions as they are formatted to be when the question is created (i.e., pixel width and height), and as they are displayed on the students' devices. Currently, the images in the student display window are much smaller. There is already a suggestion for image size when reviewing images, but this suggestion is for the image size in the question itself.

                      I accidently delivered the same question twice, and now I want to delete the second delivery. But when I clicked the "x" button describing "delete this round", it does not work.

                        I made a self-paced module for my students that was supposed to stay open until September 2. There was a glitch in Learning Cataltyics that made the session close on August 31.

                        I spent over an hour on the phone with technical support with no resolution as to why my session was prematurely terminated or what I could do about it.

                        It would be helpful if instructors had the ability to reopen a particular session ID, so that if there are glitches like this, they don't have to give students a different session ID number. Having to pass out multiple…

                          • Allow students to sort items into different categories, and that each item is graded separately.

                            I want to be able to write a question with a list of items, say 10 types of purchases that take place in an economy, and students are allowed to categorize them into categories, such as the 5 GDP categories (Consumption, Investment, Government, Exports, Imports). Also, I would like each categorization to be graded separately. Currently, I could do a separate question for each item on the list using multiple choice, but that would take too long during class. Alternatively, there is the matching question type, but it does not grade each item separately, and it forces you to have…

                            • Fix this bug: module name and date change forgotten if other changes made.

                              I copy a module, say "January 19" and get a new module called "Copy of January 19". I then edit "Copy of January 19." First, I change the name to "January 21". Then I edit some questions. Then I save and finish. Name reverts to "Copy of January 19." It only remembers that name change if I make no other changes to the module.

                              • Offer a lock for the computer so that students cannot access the internet while they are using Learning Catalytics

                                Create a way for the instructor to LOCK the use of the rest of the computer and the internet, so that students can take a quiz or test under secure conditions. Otherwise, it is hard to monitor students' use of the internet to look for answers.

                                  If I would like to reuse the questions (say for a quiz or exam later), I want to be able to allow students to access their grades (ie see how many points they earned) but not see the actual questions.

                                    I use LC participation as my attendance. However, that can be sidestepped by logging in from outside of class. If I could post an in-class password, I could prevent that.

                                      I wanted students to work on a question and write ideas down as teams. I tried the Team-based assessment but it is only an assessment and works only for questions with well-defined correct answers. Can't we make the team-based capability work for non-assessable questions too?

                                        In matching questions, allow more "options" than "subquestions". For example, allow the instructor to list three subquestions and five options, of which two options have no match (i.e, there are two distractors). This allows the instructor to minimize the ability of students to determine the matches by process of elimination.

                                          I am giving a team-based assessment exam in LC and would like to have some pdf print-outs as backup in case any students have laptop issues. There are currently several limitations of the pdf output format.

                                          1. Allow the font size, page orientation and the # of questions per page to be adjusted.
                                          2. Matching questions do not show up at all in the pdf.
                                          3. Allow the pdf to open in a new window.
